LEED Certification: Environmental Performance Evaluation System LEED (*with track record)
What is LEED? LEED, or Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design, is an environmental performance evaluation system (for architecture and the urban environment), developed by the NPO USGBC* and run by GBCI.**
To obtain LEED certification, it is necessary to meet prerequisites for green building and earn credits to achieve different levels of certification. Prerequisites and credits differ for each certification system, and the certification system with the best fit for a project can be chosen.
LEED-certified buildings save money and resources and have a positive impact on the health of occupants, while promoting renewable and clean energy.
